2005 National Retriever Championship Tuesday - November 15, 2005

Fifth Series

Fourth series wrapped up in the afternoon and the fifth series started. Fifth series is at the same location as the first and second series. Handlers walk up to a mound and line their dogs up for a land blind. The pheasant is hidden behind a small bush at approximately 180 yards. There is a log pile about 30 yards in front of the line (to the right of the line to the pheasant). In front of the log pile are two logs laying on the ground. After the dog leaves the line, the handler can move up to the two logs and give casts from that area.

53 dogs were called back for the fifth and dog number 68 started. Fifth series ended a little after 5pm. Sixth series will be tomorrow at Moree's Sportsman's Preserve. Video Clips:

Fourth Series

Land water blind - Wind is light and variable. The dogs first have to get in the water and back on land to the right of the small boat. Cross over the strip of land and back into the water. The bird is laying in the middle of the road on top of the dam. Approximately 33 yards to the right of the blind are a couple of bird planters out in the open with six bird crates. Video Clips:
