What are they competing for?

This December, nearly 2,500 dogs of 158 breeds will compete not only for the thrill of victory, but for their place in history. As the nation's largest invitation-only dog show it is highly competitive, featuring some of the top dogs in the world contending for major wins and bragging rights.

The AKC/Eukanuba National Champion and Best-By-Exhibitor in Show winner will be immortalized on Perpetual Tiffany Loving Cups that are on permanent display in the AKC Library. The Best Bred-By-Exhibitor in Show winner's name will also be engraved on the "Ronald H. Menaker Perpetual Trophy," named after the AKC Board Chairman in honor of his contributions to the organization, sport and the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.

Junior Handlers will be competing for prizes and over $5,000 in scholarships presented by Eukanuba Dog Foods.

The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship will again offer the largest cash prizes in dog show history. More than $225,000 will be awarded to the winners of the show, thanks to Eukanuba Dog Foods.

World Challenge

The World Challenge winner's name and country will be engraved on the "Eukanuba World Challenge Perpetual Trophy," which is on permanent display at AKC.
